A week after we came back from our first adventure, I received a call from the shop that works on my bike. “Hey Andres, your bike is ready!” Best call ever!
I packed up my “trailer in a bag” and headed up to pick up my baby, my money pit, my headache.
Let me introduce you to “EVIL” that’s her nickname; it is a 2010 Ducati 1198S with lots and lots and lots of mods. It was at the shop for service and to fix a few issues. (shout-out to European Cycle Services in NY for always taking care of my bikes!)
I went out for a few solo rides around the Bear Mountain area in NY; this is probably the most popular place to ride for people from NYC and NNJ. I wanted to make sure the bike was running perfectly without any issues.
Once I knew EVIL was good, I started riding with my unemployed companion aka @motomilosh.
At this point she only had a few hours of riding under her belt (and some of those hours were carrying my butt. see pic below) but little by little she started getting more comfortable and better.
We started heading north, each time we would increase the distances, I took every opportunity I had to ride and to also put some miles on other friend's bikes.
After a few weeks of looking, we found a good deal in Ohio! It was the perfect opportunity for a road trip and to visit friends in Michigan.
We loaded up my best friend’s Harley 48 and off we went to pick up its new garage mate (they are a couple).

We arrived at a Harley dealership in the middle of nowhere; apparently they used to be a triumph dealer hence the leftover bike.
The idea was for us to ride from Ohio to Michigan and the girls follow in the car but it was too damn cold, so we put the bikes up on the trailer and started driving north.
Once we arrived in Ann Arbor, the weather changed for the better so we decided to go for a ride.
I love Ann Arbor, is just like the towns I saw in movies growing up. We had dinner, drank and hanged out with old friends.
The day to head back came quick, 4am we were packing up and heading back to NJ
And as we arrived home, the first moto adventure of 2015 was over!
The weather was looking better, one of my best friends was suddenly jobless as well and she decided to start riding and keep me company, so we started looking for a Bonneville for her.
Obviously, part of me wanted her to get a Ducati… So we went to all the local Ducati dealers.
Triumph Ducati of NYC
Motorcycle Mall in NJ
Rockwell cycles in NY

Sadly, no amount of Ducatis were enough to convince her to get one so the hunt for a Bonneville continued.
