The weather was looking better, one of my best friends was suddenly jobless as well and she decided to start riding and keep me company, so we started looking for a Bonneville for her.
Obviously, part of me wanted her to get a Ducati… So we went to all the local Ducati dealers.
Triumph Ducati of NYC
Motorcycle Mall in NJ
Rockwell cycles in NY
fast by ferracci in PA
Sadly, no amount of Ducatis were enough to convince her to get one so the hunt for a Bonneville continued.
2015 has been a weird, good and bad year for me. In February, I left the company I had dedicated 6 years of my life to and decided to go ride and travel around.
This Blog is mostly to share some pics, experiences and to help me improve my writing skills so I can do a better job in future adventures.
October 2014- I turned 29 years old which made me really look back at my life and reflect on whether I was where I wanted to be; I read on a travel blog something along the lines of “I had the cushy Job, nice home, the sports car and my bike; but something was off.”; and that summarizes how I felt at that exact point of my life. What I thought would make me happy just wasn’t really making me happy and a lot of things going on at work made me realize I needed change.
February 2015- After months of thinking about it, I decided to make an exit plan for May. That was the deadline I was giving myself to come up with a financial plan and leave the company.
But as we all know, plans often change and due to some rumors and childish drama somehow I was out of there by the end of February.
The first few days were hard, a lot of mixed feelings and I was completely scared of what was going to happen in my future (OH MY GOD DID I MAKE A MISTAKE) was going through my mind every day. It was still too cold to ride and my bike was at the shop, so for the first few weeks I enlisted my friends to go beer hunting and winter hiking.
One of those road trips was to Boston; we decided to go on a Friday night without even looking at the weather…. “How bad could it get” well, we went the weekend of the worst snow storm of the winter smh..
Oh and this was during St. Valentines (me drinking my date)
On the way back from Boston, driving through a miserably bad snow storm; we decided to stop at Willimantic Brewery.
I will not lie, I was pretty scared at that point; but I knew I had to make the best out of this opportunity and have fun.
After purchasing the 1198S I knew I needed to do some track time so I signed up with a local group called Team Promotion through one of its members who was a forum friend from my old days in audizine.com.
After signing up I had to get ready and so I proposed a Philly run to my friends just so I could go to the Revzilla boutique and order the stuff I needed.
Once we got there, I was blown away by the amount of things I wanted!! lol but I ended up decked out on Alpinestars;
Alpinestars Motegi Race Suit
Alpinestars SMX 6 Boots
Alpinestars GP Pro Gloves
Time to hit the track
As I am sure a lot of you know, going to revzilla is a wonderful experience. The costumer service is superb and everyone is just super friendly (shout out to Rafael who was more than awesome helping me!).
It is 5:00 AM on a cold October morning, I am excited, nervous and not looking forward to riding the bike for two and half hours in 45 degree weather to the track.
Thinking I am going to die of hypothermia I make it to the track where I meet up with my friend Craig and his tracked out 848, we join the introduction class to get some pointers and off we go!
It was an amazing experience, one I`d recommend anyone who likes riding motorcycles; one thing I tell anyone that asks me about going to the track is that you will definitely find out how big your hmmm "cojones" are.
Bonus story, that was my birthday and my girlfriend at the time had thrown me a surprise party... well lets just say I was very late and we are no longer a couple...
